2026 Witches & Warlocks on the Water - REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED WE ARE AT CAPACITY

Wow! What a response we have had to our event and it is only August! Thannk you to all who have registered for our event, but registration is now closed as we have reached capacity.

Coastal Virginia Paddlers is excited to announce the 3rd Annual Witches & Warlocks on the Water paddle event, happening on October 25, 2026, in Virginia Beach!

Bring your own SUP, canoe, or kayak, and don your spookiest attire for a leisurely paddle along Owl's Creek. This isn't a race; it's a festive costume contest on the water! Please remember that everyone must wear a life preserver on their SUP, canoe, or kayak and sign our waiver to participate. Well-behaved pets are welcome too.

Call Kevin, 757-237-8776 and rent a single or double kayak or SUP. He brings the gear, including PFD and paddle... and you enjoy the ride! Be sure to let him know you are apart of our event for the special event pricing.

THE SPELLBINDING PLAN

9:00 am - 9:30 am: Sign In / Sign Up for the costume contest and make a donation.

9:00 am - 10:00 am: The OV Sea Hags will perform a witchy dance.

9:30 am: Have your gear ready for the paddle event.

9:50 am: A yearly photo and costume contestants photo will be taken.

10:00 am: Launch for the paddle event.

11:30 am: Return to the dock.

11:50 am: The winner of the costume contest will be announced, marking the conclusion of the event.

11:50 am: The winner of the raffle will be announced and notified via phone if not present.

12 Noon - 3 pm: AFTER PARTY: Keep those wicked-good costumes ON and join us for the best ocean views, cold drinks, and amazing seafood at Ocean Eddie's Seafood Restaurant.

2026 YEARS CHARITY

Our charity, Edmarc Children’s Hospice, is located in downtown Portsmouth, Virginia. Edmarc provides family-centered home health and hospice services for children with life-threatening illnesses through nursing, social work, bereavement, and volunteer support. Their mission is to alleviate the weight of pediatric illness and death, offering comprehensive care for both the patient and family. Thanks to generous community support, families never receive a bill for any of the services Edmarc offers.

Join us for our upcoming costume contest and paddle event to support this vital cause in Virginia Beach.

Don't want to donate cash? No worries! Here’s a list of some helpful items Edmarc would greatly appreciate: Coloring Books • Crayons, Markers, Stickers, Sticker Books, Play-Doh, Barbies, Small Plush Toys (with tags), Action Figures, Family and Individual Games (crosswords, puzzles, word searches, mazes, card games).

An Edmarc employee will be collecting all donations at the event and will have information along with Edmarc pamphlets available at the sign-in table.

2026 AFTER PARTY

12 Noon - 3pm: Ocean Eddie's Seafood Restaurant is hosting the official Witches & Warlocks on the Water AFTER PARTY! Keep those wicked-good costumes on and join us for the best ocean views, cold drinks, and amazing seafood right on the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier. Bring your best costume for a chance to win our costume contest while enjoying the festivities of the paddle event happening nearby.

The Sweetest Spell of All: Giving Back! 20% of all sales between Noon - 3pm will be donated directly to Edmarc Children's Hospice. So come eat, drink, and support an incredible cause!

Ocean Eddie's is located at: 1415 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach VA

(Between 14th & 15th Streets on the boardwalk at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier)

PARKING: Ocean Eddie's and the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier are located between 14th and 15th streets on the Boardwalk. Street parking is not free at this time. Be prepared to pay via credit card for street parking. Park as close to 14th Street as you can.
