Coastal Virginia Paddlers is proud to present the 3rd Annual Witches & Warlocks on the Water October, 25, 2026!
Bring your own SUP, Canoe or Kayak. Dress in your spookiest attire for a leisurely paddle along Owl's Creek. This isn't a race, it's a costume parade on the water!
Everyone must have a life preserver on their SUP, canoe, or kayak and sign our waiver to participate. Well behaved pets are welcome too.

THE SPELLBINDING PLAN
9:00 am: - 9:30 am: Sign in at the COVA Paddlers table. Register / Sign Waiver / Sign Up Costume Contest / Make a Donation.
9:00 am - 10: 00 am: OV Sea Hags will perform a witchy dance.
9:30 am: Have your gear ready.
9:50 am: Yearly photo and costume contestant photo taken.
10:00 am: Launch.
11:30 am : Return to dock.
11:50 am : Costume contest winner will be announced. Event concludes.
12 Noon - 3 pm: AFTER PARTY: Keep those wicked-good costumes ON and join us for the best ocean views, cold drinks, and amazing seafood. After Party location: Ocean Eddie's Seafood Restaurant.
2026 YEARS CHARITY
Our charity is Edmarc Children’s Hospice located in downtown Portsmouth, Virginia. Edmarc provides family-centered home health and hospice for children with life-threatening illnesses through nursing, social work, bereavement, and volunteer support. Their goal is to ease the gravity of pediatric illness and death and provide care for the patient and family as a whole. Families never receive a bill for any service Edmarc provides thanks to generous community support.
WAYS TO DONATE:
• Donate via cash or credit at the sign-in table or qrcode - coming soon.
• Donate an item from the list below, leave in original packing.
Don't want to donate cash? No worries. Here's a list of some helpful items Edmarc would be appreciative of:

• Family and Individual Games (crosswords, puzzles, word searches, mazes, card games)
An Edmarc employee will be collecting all donations at the event. They will have information and Edmarc pamphlets at the Sign in Table.
COSTUME CONTEST
Cast a spell on us with your best witch or warlock attire! For extra credit to win the judges eyes, decorate your SUP, canoe, or kayak to complete your magical vessel. Sign up at the sign-in table!
11:50 am : Winner announced. Our volunteer judge will select the most enchanting entry to win a fabulous swag bag.
2026 AFTER PARTY
12 Noon - 3pm: Ocean Eddie's Seafood Restaurant is hosting the official Witches & Warlocks on the Water AFTER PARTY! Keep those wicked-good costumes on and join us for the best ocean views, cold drinks, and amazing seafood right on the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier.
The Sweetest Spell of All: Giving Back! 20% of all sales between Noon - 3pm will be donated directly to Edmarc Children's Hospice. So come eat, drink, and support an incredible cause!
Ocean Eddie's is located at: 1415 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach VA
(Between 14th & 15th Streets on the boardwalk at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier)
PARKING: Ocean Eddie's and the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier are located in between 14th and 15th streets on the Boardwalk. Street parking is not free at this time. Be prepared to pay via credit card for street parking. Park as close to 14th Street as you can.
ENTERTAINMENT
We are thrilled to announce a new addition to this years event! The dance troupe, "OV Sea Hags" will entertain us with a Witchy Dance!
The OV Sea Hags are Norfolk’s own amateur dance troupe and the only official Coastal Virginia affiliate of Germany’s Wolfshäger Hexenbrut. Their mission has always been about joy, creativity, and community connection. What started as a small neighborhood gathering has grown into a spirited sisterhood—and we can't wait to share that "Sea Hag" spirit with all of you on the water!
Grab your hats, polish your paddles (or broomsticks), and get ready to dance the OV Sea Hag way!
